Analysis Credits

Analysis credits are the single currency behind every AI feature in Edilitics, not AskEdi alone. One credit is consumed by an AskEdi analysis, by generating AI column metadata in Integrate, by an AI transform suggestion, by an AI chart suggestion, and by a dashboard Summarise. They all draw from the same monthly pool.

Credits reset at the start of each billing cycle. Add-on packs give you additional credits that never expire and are drawn from automatically once your monthly allocation runs out.

Monthly Allocation

Monthly credits are included with every paid plan. The amount depends on your plan tier.

Monthly credits reset on the first of each month. Unused credits do not roll over.

Team Plan Pooling

On Team plans, credits are pooled across the entire workspace. The total pool is the per-seat credit amount multiplied by the number of seats. Any team member draws from the shared pool.

A 5-user team on Team Scale has 400 pooled credits per month (80 x 5). If one team member runs 60 analyses, the remaining 340 credits are available to the rest of the team.

BYOK Credit Doubling

Adding your own API key (BYOK) for any supported provider doubles your workspace's analysis credits for as long as BYOK stays active. Because one pool powers every AI feature, the doubling applies across all of them - AskEdi, column metadata, transform suggestions, chart suggestions, and dashboard summaries - not to AskEdi alone.

A Team Scale workspace with 5 seats goes from 400 pooled credits per month to 800.

The multiplier is applied every time credits are granted, not once at setup:

When you first add a key, your current balance is topped up immediately so you do not have to wait for the next reset. Adding a second or third provider does not stack the multiplier further, it stays at 2x. If BYOK is later deactivated, subsequent allocations return to the plan rate.

What Counts as One Analysis

One analysis credit is consumed each time you submit a question that triggers the AskEdi pipeline: classifier routing, query generation, execution against your source, and response synthesis.

Follow-up questions in the same chat each consume one credit. The privacy mode and LLM provider you select do not change the credit count.

When a credit is not consumed

Your balance is checked before the pipeline starts, but the credit is only deducted after the analysis completes. Three outcomes stop short of that and cost you nothing:

The out-of-scope case is caught at classifier routing, before any query runs against your source, which is why it costs nothing.

When a credit is consumed even though you got no number

Everything past that point is charged, because the work was done. Two cases are worth calling out because they can feel like failures:

• The query ran and correctly returned zero rows. The pipeline executed properly; your data genuinely has no matching records.
• Forecasting or Root Cause Analysis withheld a figure. The query ran, the model was fitted, and the significance test was computed. The test result was that no reliable trend exists, so the number was suppressed rather than presented with false precision. That is a completed analysis producing the correct answer, and it is charged like any other.

Add-on packs are one-time purchases. They never expire and are drawn from automatically once your monthly allocation runs out. You can purchase packs at any time from your workspace billing settings.

Any paid tier can purchase any pack size. A Launch plan can purchase an Ultra pack.
