Google Sheets Integration
Connect Google Sheets to Edilitics for secure, real-time data access. Enable no-code analytics workflows with governed schema integration.
Google Sheets is a cloud-native spreadsheet tool that enables real-time collaboration and data sharing. Edilitics provides a secure, no-code integration to leverage your Sheets data as a data source and destination for replication, transformation, and downstream analytics.
With built-in access controls, schema reliability, and modular integration workflows, Edilitics ensures your spreadsheet data is used with enterprise-grade precision.
Key Features
- Real-Time Access: Edilitics fetches data directly from your Google Sheets at runtime—no manual uploads required.
- Bi-Directional Support: Use Google Sheets as both a Source (to extract data) and a Destination (to load transformed data).
- Intelligent Schema Parsing: Edilitics automatically infers column types (e.g., numeric, categorical, datetime) from your sheets to ensure consistent data typing.
Access Note: When integrating Google Sheets into Edilitics, you must use the email address associated with your Edilitics account. This requirement ensures secure and consistent access to your data.
Use Cases Across the Edilitics Platform
Replication Workflows
- Extract structured datasets from shared Google Sheets into analytical environments (e.g., BigQuery, Snowflake).
- Automate updates by combining with Schedulers & Advanced Settings.
Transformation Workflows
- Cleanse, enrich, and join Google Sheets data with warehouse or database data.
- Write transformation results back to a Google Sheet for easy sharing with business teams.
Visualization
- Use live Google Sheets as real-time inputs for dashboards.
- Generate interactive charts and operational KPIs that update as the sheet changes.
Security & Governance
Edilitics ensures robust governance for Google Sheets integrations:
- OAuth Authentication: Access is granted via secure Google OAuth tokens, which are encrypted at rest.
- Audit Logging: Every access—whether in replication, transformation, or visualization—is logged, including user ID, timestamp, and action type.
- Permission Scope: Workspace members can only use integrations explicitly shared with them. Shared users cannot edit, delete, or reshare integrations.
- No Local Data Persistence: Edilitics fetches data only when needed for execution, ensuring your raw data remains in your governed Google environment.
