Edilitics vs Zoho Analytics

Buying a BI tool,
or buying into an ecosystem?

Zoho Analytics is a genuinely capable bundled platform - strongest for teams already running Zoho CRM, Zoho Books, or Zoho One. Edilitics is built the opposite way: usage-priced, AI included from the entry tier, for teams whose data doesn't already live inside Zoho's suite.

Before The Scoring

Two platforms, two different bets

Zoho Analytics and Edilitics both cover data connection, preparation, AI querying, and dashboards - each company's own claims, side by side.

Edilitics claims

Zoho Analytics claims

24 live connectors, zero raw data stored - metadata-only extraction with AI Readiness and Data Quality scoring on every table
500+ connectors, positioned as an "end-to-end BI and analytics platform, assisted by Agentic AI"
AskEdi included from the entry tier (₹3,999/mo Individual Launch, ₹7,499/user/mo Team Launch) - not gated behind an upgrade
Conversational Analytics from Standard (₹1,900/mo annual); full Ask Zia AI Agent, Diagnostic Insights, and Smart Recommendations from Premium (₹4,200/mo annual)
Priced by what you use: connectors, compute-hours, analysis credits, dashboards - not by rows stored
Priced by a bundled row-and-user ceiling per tier - 0.5M rows/2 users on Basic up to 50M rows/50 users on Enterprise
Zero raw database rows ever transmitted to any LLM provider, architecturally enforced, with three selectable privacy modes
Zia runs on Zoho's own in-house LLM by default, launched July 2025, with BYOK available across OpenAI, Anthropic, and Gemini
Free viewer seats bundled with every Full User license - 5 on Launch, 10 on Scale, 15 on Pinnacle
Deep native integration with Zoho CRM, Zoho Books, and the wider Zoho One suite

Side by Side

What's included, tier by tier

Zoho Analytics is a full platform, not a single BI module - so this scores the platforms directly.

AI querying at entry tier

AskEdi: ₹3,999/mo entry tier. Zia's Conversational Analytics needs Standard (₹1,900/mo); full Ask Zia Agent needs Premium (₹4,200/mo).

Pricing unit

A dormant Zoho table counts against the row cap the moment it's imported. Edilitics bills the work performed, not data at rest.

EdiliticsUsage - compute, analyses, dashboards
Zoho AnalyticsStorage - a fixed row-and-user cap

Free viewer seats

Edilitics grants 5-15 free Viewer+AskEdi seats per workspace. Zoho's user count is one shared cap across every role; extra viewers cost more.

Evaluate the full product before paying

Edilitics' evaluation includes a pre-connected, industry-matched sample dataset so AskEdi and Visualize are usable immediately. Zoho's Free plan excludes Ask Zia entirely - Conversational Analytics only starts at Standard.

The Real Question

An ecosystem bundle, priced by storage and gated by tier

Zoho Analytics is strongest for teams already committed to Zoho's suite. Its AI and data-prep depth is real - but fenced behind the two most expensive tiers.

Built for Zoho-ecosystem teams first

Clearest value for teams already on Zoho CRM, Books, or Zoho One - analytics plugs in natively. Non-Zoho sources take more setup effort, similar to Power BI's relationship with the Microsoft stack.

A row ceiling prices storage, not use

Zoho's tiers bundle a row cap - 0.5M on Basic, 50M on Enterprise. A rarely-queried table counts against it the moment it's imported.

AskEdi from entry, Ask Zia after two upgrades

AskEdi ships on Edilitics' ₹3,999/mo tier. Zoho's Basic and Standard get no full AI agent - Ask Zia Agent needs Premium, roughly 4x Basic's price.

In-house model by default, BYOK where it matters

Zia moved to an in-house LLM in July 2025, with BYOK across OpenAI, Anthropic, and Gemini on top. Edilitics' zero-raw-rows guarantee holds across all three privacy modes regardless of provider.

Data prep is also tier-gated on Zoho

Zoho DataPrep is Premium/Enterprise only. Edilitics' Transform - 25 no-code operations plus a native Python/Polars code node - is included on every tier.

Viewers share the seat cap Zoho sells you

Zoho's user count is one shared ceiling across every role; extra viewers cost more. Edilitics grants free Viewer+AskEdi seats with every Full User license.

The Verdict

If your CRM, finance, and ops tools already run on Zoho, Zoho Analytics is a legitimately strong, low-friction choice - that's not a gap to argue around. If they don't, the comparison stops being about features and starts being about what you're actually buying: an ecosystem bundle priced by storage, or a governed platform priced by use, with AI included from day one.

Choose Edilitics if

  • -Your data doesn't already live inside Zoho CRM, Zoho Books, or Zoho One
  • -You want AI conversational querying without first upgrading two pricing tiers to reach it
  • -A large, rarely-queried table shouldn't cost more than an actively-used one
  • -You want data prep (Transform) included, not fenced behind Premium/Enterprise

The one case Zoho Analytics fits better

  • -You're already running Zoho CRM, Zoho Books, or Zoho One and want analytics that plugs in natively with minimal setup
